Understanding Trending Data on Your Dashboard
Trending provides powerful visualizations to help you track and understand trends over time. This article explains how trending data is calculated, how to use the available filters, and what to expect when viewing historical data.
How Trending Scores Are Calculated
Trending widgets on the dashboard display scores over time. To provide a consistent and easy-to-interpret view, scores are rolled up as follows:
- Monthly Scores: Represent the score from the last day of each month
- Quarterly Scores: Represent the score from the last day of the quarter (March 31, June 30, September 30, December 31)
- Yearly Scores: Represent the score from December 31 for the respective years
This means the score you see for any month, quarter, or year is based on the final value recorded for that period.
Filtering Your Data
Trending widgets support filtering by location, allowing you to focus on locations that matter most to you.
- The location filter is also connected to the main Filter bar at the top of the page, so updates made there will apply to all widgets on the dashboard
- You can select up to 15 locations at a time to display in the widgets
- Use the location filter within the widget to search, select, or deselect locations
- Click the “X” icon next to the selected locations to clear all current selections
If you exceed the 15-location limit, you’ll be prompted to adjust your selection.
You can explore your data using several time-based filters:
- Monthly: View scores for each month
- Quarterly: View scores by calendar quarter
- Yearly: View annual trends
- Custom Date Range: Select a specific start and end date to analyze a particular timeframe
Data is available starting January 2024. Filtering or searching for data before this date will not return results.
About Gaps in Data
Some periods may show gaps in the graphs. These gaps typically occur when no score was recorded on the last day of a period due to:
- Missing or incomplete data
- Inactive reporting during that time
We’re actively working to minimize these gaps and improve data continuity. If you notice missing data or have questions about your historical trends, our support team is here to help.
