What is Waste Analysis?
KPA’s Waste Analysis service helps your facility determine whether certain solid waste materials are considered hazardous under federal and state regulations—and ensures you have the documentation needed for compliant disposal.
Getting Started
- KPA will assign a regulatory expert to guide you through the process
- A sampling kit is ordered and shipped directly to your facility
Timing: Kit delivery typically takes between 5 - 10 business days
Sampling Kit Delivery
You’ll receive a kit that includes:
- Sample containers
- Instructions
- Chain of Custody (CoC) form
- Packaging materials and return shipping label
Important: Do not open the kit until your scheduled review call with KPA.
Sampling Review Call
A KPA regulatory expert will schedule a short virtual call to:
- Walk you through how to collect the sample correctly
- Explain how to complete required documentation
- Answer any questions
This ensures your sample is valid and avoids delays.
Sample Collection & Shipment
After the call, you will:
- Collect a solid waste sample (no liquids)
- Complete the Chain of Custody form
- Package and seal the kit
- Ship it using the prepaid UPS label
Important: Ship as soon as possible after collection
California clients: same-day shipment is required
Laboratory Testing
Your sample is sent to a certified laboratory for analysis.
Turnaround time: 7 - 15 business days
Results & Documentation
Once testing is complete:
- KPA reviews and interprets your results
- You receive a summary and full lab report
- Documents are uploaded to Vera Suite> Policies & Documents
